As an Automation Engineer at Confirm, you will play a key role in leading and coordinating technical teams, in addition, as an experienced Automation Engineer you will be expected to not only contribute with your technical expertise but also take responsibility for guiding and supporting less experienced colleagues. You will act as a mentor and role model, sharing your knowledge and experience to help them develop and grow in their roles. This ensures strong collaboration and continuous development throughout the team. You will work closely with customer resources and suppliers such as automation engineers, system service providers and project management.

Among other things, you will be working with

  • Design, configuration, implementation and maintenance of production and automation systems, including process control systems.
  • Development and implementation of automation solutions based on customer specifications.
  • Technical documentation of hardware and software design.
  • Analyze user and functional requirements to ensure that systems meet the specified requirements.
  • Validating automated systems by performing user tests.
  • Compliance with both global and local standards, guidelines and procedures as defined by Confirm, our customers and the industry.
  • Analyzing and identifying customer-specific needs to deliver tailored and efficient automation solutions.
  • Managing automation projects and identifying potential bottlenecks and critical factors.

The ideal candidate

To be successful in the role of Automation Engineer at Confirm, we expect you to have:

  • Experience with DCS systems such as Emerson DeltaV, ABB or Siemens as well as HMI/SCADA solutions such as Rockwell FactoryTalk or Siemens.
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in engineering or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of experience in an FDA regulated pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
  • Experience as a technical team member and solid understanding of cGMP and Good Engineering Practices (GEP), including ISA88, GAMP and ISPE guidelines.
  • Experience with history systems such as OSI PI Historian and PLCs from Rockwell and Siemens.
  • Experience with project management under Agile methodology and technical systems such as Oracle or MS SQL.
  • IT skills with an understanding of domain requirements, networks, firewalls and system grouping.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and in teams.
